Cozy fantasy shopkeeping game
Trash Goblin is a premium simulation game for PC developed by Split Milk Studios Ltd. In this cozy and relaxing fantasy-themed simulator experience, players will take on the role of a goblin shopkeeper. They will collect all sorts of odd trinkets to clean up and sell to equally quirky customers for profit.
Similar to games like Tavern Manager Simulator or Potion Craft, Trash Goblin incorporates business and time management mechanics to keep things interesting and engaging. A demo version is available for newcomers to try out to get a sense of what the gameplay will be like.
Odd trinkets
Trash Goblin is a cozy, fantasy-themed shopkeeping game wherein you run a shop that sells all kinds of trinkets and knick-knacks to customers looking for unique finds. Unearth and discover items by scavenging and cleaning them up. Chip away at the dirt and scrub all the grime away to restore them to good condition that's worthy enough to sell for a nice price.
There are over 50 trinkets to collect, with more than 100 different combinations and outcomes as you try to piece them back together. The restoration process involves three charming mini-games with eight tools to use to make things interactive and fun. Apart from the random customers who will come in, you'll also meet and interact with different NPCs to sell to and get to know more.
Speaking of customers, there will be more than a dozen quests to take on special jobs from clients with unique requests. Use the money you make to expand your workspace, purchase new tools, and decorate your shop. All that said, the gameplay loop in Trash Goblin can get dull and repetitive after some time. The game could use more content and variety to keep things fresh and interesting.
Major content drop and fixes in Version 1.0
Trash Goblin steps out of Early Access with Version 1.0, bringing a hefty batch of new content and polish. Players are welcomed with the Grand Opening Cosmetic Set and a quirky storyline that blends spooky, heartfelt, and humorous moments across roughly 10 hours of gameplay. Along the way, you’ll meet odd but charming characters, each with interesting tales. More than 100 new trinkets have also been added.
Several major features debut in this release. District Travel lets you open shop in two new areas packed with eager customers, while the new Trinketpedia helps you track every item you've found—ideal for completionists. This ties into the new “Fetching Fungi” mechanic. Expansion Mode has also been reworked: some items were removed or reclassified into the main narrative, and item descriptions now clearly show which pieces are decorative, functional, or part of unlock chains.
Bug fixes in Version 1.0 address several long-standing issues. Upcycled trinkets no longer get stuck or become uninteractable, and quest tracking now updates correctly when customers are quickly served in succession. The tutorial arrow no longer clips into the bell, and quirky glitches like the money bag bouncing on the sales mat or Grandma’s egg wobbling on the magnifying glass have been smoothed out. Overall, gameplay feels more refined and stable.
Cozy yet fleeting
To sum up, if you like relaxing games, Trash Goblin is a charming and cozy fantasy simulator experience worth checking out. It's easy to get into; with its chill pacing, you can enjoy it at your leisure. There are plenty of trinkets to collect and different ways you can assemble them back. Hopefully, more content will be added in future updates. Give it a try now.
